- All 50 states, with the deepest bench in Northern Virginia and Ashburn, Dallas Fort Worth, Phoenix, Chicago, Silicon Valley, Atlanta, Portland, Columbus, Reno and Salt Lake City. These are the markets where a decade of construction concentrated the people who have taken a hyperscale campus through energization.
- Can you staff a build in a market with no established data center workforce?
- Yes, and it is worth being plain about how. A new campus in a rural or emerging market does not have a local pool of people who have commissioned a hyperscale facility, and we do not claim otherwise. We screen for candidates with a verified record of performing away from home, check that record against their actual project history rather than a stated willingness to travel, and structure the offer so they relocate and stay. That is a different search from filling a seat in Ashburn and we run it differently.
- Do you place candidates who need to relocate?
- Routinely, and it is one of the things we screen hardest for. Willingness to travel is easy to say and hard to sustain, so we look for people whose employment history already shows multi year assignments away from home, and we qualify the family and logistics questions early rather than discovering them after an offer.
